How do you make online friends on facebook?

Im not sure bout this as I sort of feel like a loser for doing this but I would like to meet and discover people from overseas on facebook like a pen pal but not sure how to approach people from overseas yet alone how to make friends with them. How do you do this. I tried looking at the groups I added to my page but I doint think I have the courage to do so or know what to say. Any suggestions? I live in Australia btw.

2. Just put some interesting stuff in your profile and look for people with similar interests. Your not actually meeting them face to face so don't worry. You'll soon find similar people.
