How do I make friends online? I have people to talk to but i don't have any online friends because they are hard to make

All my friends move as soon as I make them... should I start making online ones? I have bad luck when it comes to friends, not that I can't make them, but it's whenever I do, something happens that makes them go away. I have had about 10 good friends in my life and 8 of them either moved away, I moved away from, or in 1 case, expelled. Now I am wondering... should I start making friends online? What do you think I should do?
